Jozef Aerts lives in Hasselt, Belgium. In 1973, he started his career as photographer. He joined PSA in June 1975 and since that time, he has had about 9000 accepted pictures at International Exhibitions (FIAP- and PSA-recognized) in more than 60 countries. He has received about 950 awards, including many FIAP and PSA medals in CPID, ND, PJ, PT and prints. He has been awarded with International Honors around the world. He received his Master FIAP in 2008, his APSA in 1987 and his FPSA in 1992. He receives regular invitations for special exhibitions and also as member for judging in different countries all over the world. In 2010, Jozef was the first European to receive the Fallon Award (membership) and in 2009 the first with the Ruby Membership Plaque for recruiting new PSA members. At this moment, he is the first in the world with the highest ranking in Photo-Travel, the Diamond 2-award. Since 1981, he is every year in the Top-10 of PT. He is also International Representative for Belgium and since 2006 as Region Director for Western-Europe. Jozef regularly publishes in international photo magazines. His preferences in the photography include children, old people, portraits, animals, photojournalism and photo-travel.
